Moleskine Search

Assalamualaikum.

I know. I have been a bad blogger these days. Short, lazy updates. So many outfit pictures, just never the right time :( Ok, back to the title. I spent my 200 voucher on Moleskin products. Now, if you're wondering, Moleskin goes way back to the Picasso era (Renaissance perhaps), where everything was written in black books, with circle edge and a band for the notebook. Each notebook is pre-equipped with mini folder attached at the back. I've been longing for these babies for quite some time, but never really hoped to get one because of the price. yes. the price. If you're wondering, price starts at 45++ to a few hundred ringgits. Only a true notebook lover would see their value. Everything is meticulously made into notebook perfection. And yes, my 200 voucher is all poured into this. Notebooks and me goes wayyy back when I was little. I've always loved journals and notebooks since I can remember. Collecting notebooks was one of my biggest delight in life. I have a one whole drawer, especially for my notebooks. When I was growing up, frilly-pink-locked notebooks and diaries turned into planners and journals. I'm always the most productive when I have my planner with me, complete with to do lists and more :) And yay, now that the new semester is approaching, I can use my Moleskine product! Such joy to finally have them! It's like reaching the zenith of notebooks collectors :)

Next week is going to be the first week of the semester. Although my result was DL (alhamdulillah) I think I need to strive harder to maintain it. And now I baru tahu yang getting the first-class degree is waaaaayyyyy harder than I thought it'd be. ;(

I've always been intrigued by pajama dressing trend as seen on runways

When first putting the pajama-like trousers and shirt, I feel a little bit androgynous

So I paired em with le flowery scarf and balanced the grown-up-ish ensemble with the wedges

The heavy necklace...well that was just for fun

I've bought this for a while and this the only second attempt in wearing them

They deserve a post T.T

Anyway, it was just a normal day out (cake therapy day)

I received my first UP shoes by Diana Rikasari today!!

It's super comfortable, just the right size and height and I couldn't be happier :)

Really, this must the cutest pair of shoes I've ever owned haha

With velvet wedges, faux leather upper and gold buckle + stud, I know I've made the right choice

Can't wait to level 'up' my profile ranking by buying more

Although I still think it's a wee bit pretty for daily class shoes right? ;p

Short Hiatus

Yes.

I know I haven't been here, for a bit more than a week.

Which is fine if I was in campus, but it's not because I'm on a holiday break (!)

Anyway, can you believe that I haven't seen the sun, and by this I mean the outside world, for a complete one - whole - week. already. ?!

I was kind of sick, and with an addition of a painful experience, I was locked inside my own little world.

Thanks to everything that had made me stay in bed, cocooned in le blanket, in my pajamas, all day long, for the whole week. -_-

Well, in simpler words I haven't done anything in the past week, except lying on the bed.

Unlike some people who don't like that extra free time in the holidays, I'm almost always never am bored of holidays. I can do so many things that I have in mind, even if I'm staying home all day.

I'm the kind of person who likes to think that I have to achieve something, in one day. (e.g. : sew something, learn a recipe, etc etc)

Doesn't matter if it's a small thing, or just some petty little stuff. The point is I have to embrace the days doing....something.

And it's fun, accomplishing little things in life :)

Which means, I'm quite disappointed with myself for the past week, for letting feelings carry me away.

But I've done quite a lot of thinking, and I learnt some stuff.

1. Not everything, everyone is going to treat you good. People could backstab you, even if you don't know the person well enough. really sad,because I like to think of every one in the world as a wonderful creation of the almighty, and I actually do believe in looking at everyone in a positive view. ( I guess not everyone share this outlook in life)

2. If Allah wants you to see something, you will. Even in the weirdest, most unthinkable ways.

3. You are stronger, much stronger, than you think you are.

Well, you can't see the rainbow without the rain, so I guess there's always something good in each hurdle.

and I'm always going to be positive, and see people as a kind being, and leave everything else to Him.

That's how I keep myself happy anyway :)

I wish everyone in the world believe in themselves

New Scarf Tutorial

Hello and assalamualaikum,

As I've promised, I'm back with the tutorial

This tutorial is actually just another super simple tutorial that enables us muslimahs to cover the chest (I still have a lot to improve in this sense :( ) AND wear the choker/short necklace as well.

I have a lotttt of short necklaces which I couldn't wear when I wore the scarf. Hee.

Enjoy the tutorial :)

#notes :

1. You can wear your jewelry with this tutorial (including your lovely earrings x)

2. For the best cover up/impact, it is advisable to use 1.5m or longer headscarf

3. For video purposes, you've seen me putting the bonnet on, but a bonnet that doesn't cover the neck works as well.

4. I have pinned both side of the scarf to the side of the neck so that there would be no hair flyways and it creates the v-shaped illusion of slimmer cheeks (yay!). You can also make it higher so it covers the chin.

5. Generally, it is up to you to use how many pins and brooches according to your liking. Using a semi hard scarf gives a better shape to the whole look.

Happy trying. I hope for those who have the same dilemmas as I do before can now enjoy your jewelleries!

p/s : I'm still learning how to create a better video next time. Can anyone tell me how not to make the video end abruptly? :S

Sorry for the rambling yesterday (still thinking whether I should get it or not tho)

This outfit was just something I throw on, accidentally.

I was only going for a car wash fyi , haha

And no, of course I didn't go like this -.-

The point is, look how one colored blazer can do to change the whole ensemble

Imagine if I'm swapping it with a simple black cardigan.

Then I'd be fit to go to do my simple errands.

That's one of the reasons why I love blazers/outerwear and yes, the jersey skirt.

Maxi skirts are so versatile :) comfy too (plus points)

Okay, deep breath, in out in out. There's so much more in life than adding that item into the shopping bag. Breathe, you'll be fine.

This are generally what I would say to myself. 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 go! fuhh, I kind of feel better. I don't need another black top right? (well technically, wrong! I do need it because it's the perfect georgette with the engraved tips that I wanted.......for so long........but mummy said do not buy anything, anymore.......)

Sisters day out

After quite some time, I finally got the chance to go out for a girly session with le only sister

Frankly, it's hard to get her to go anywhere with me (just the two of us) because she's always surrounded by other people.

So I'm one happy girl when we could finally hang out together (i do see her everyday but that's different ;p)

Since I had been ogling items from the Zara website for some time & have yet to go to Bershka again, we decided to go to OneUtama shopping mall.

Aaaaaand we thought it's going to be empty because it's a working day but nah,it's always packed

Apparently we forgot it's the Chinese New Year hols for the chinese-s -.-'

With limited budget (mind you), off we go :)

Hello, I'm beat yesterday sorting out photos, but I'm going to put it up here today :)

Reflection was a fashion show event on 15th Jan at Blackbox Solaris Dutamas

With fashion show from AmmaraHijabi, OldBlossomBox, Yasalma, Pastelina, ShopSptnkswthrt, RinaSalleh Collections, Abiya Muslimah, Calaqisya and Nilam, it was a greaaaat show :)

Lagi lagi emceed by Maria Elena yg gila-gila, haha

VVIP Guests include Hana Tajima of Maysaa, Vivy Yusoff and performances by The Fabulous Cats and Heliza Helmi.

So I sat at the fourth row, left hand side by the stage :)

These coveted pieces are elegantly designed, yet contain intricate versatility to its wearer. Honestly, I am so glad I found the line, a few months after I started wearing the hijab. Owning the whole first collection, I can assure you, I would wear one of these special clothes.. for every week. My goal of collecting them wasn't easy, but it was worth every cent spent. For a new hijab wearer, the clothes bring me an air of personal assurance. They made me feel content of myself and my appearance. They bring personal satisfaction to me. Every time I lay my eyes on them, I'd fall for them once again. Tell me how that happens, because I myself had no idea pieces of clothes can make me fall so hard. For me, my outer appearance brings about who I am, and I am a fashion lover, but this clothing line, they bring me so much more.

The beautiful cutting, exquisite material, clean lines with quirky detailings... it's hard to explain how much I love the clothing.

Very dear, very personal to me.

p/s : I feel like this post is more like a love letter to my favorite clothes, neatly folded in my wardrobe. *I can barely breathe while I'm writing these, can you imagine how much love I have for them??!!*

I made a super short video of the collection, not sure if it works, and it's my first time exploring the iMovie so.. forgive me if it is..not up to par..with beginner's standard

oh, and I have to say this, so many of you girls had known Hana Tajima and her line before I even knew her (it was accidental for me and I'm fairly new in adapting the scarf into my appearance), so please, do not judge me :)

New Year and Birthday Celebration

On new year, we went to Meatworks, Solaris Hartamas to celeb mom's birthday

Yes, her birthday falls on New Year so every year we get the chance to eat eat eat during New Year :D

Oh, and I celebrated New Year's Eve at The Curve, Damansara.

It was hell lot of people there, plus the noise, the super heavy crowd. Needless to say, I was more than paranoid to celebrate new year's in public places now. No no, maybe not in a few years.

I was, more to scared of seeing people dancing, yelling, shouting..I think I'd rather have tea, a slice of cake and a camera, sit on the balcony watching all the fireworks.

And yes, I am such a loner and indoor freak.

I love being in the comfort of my home more than anything else :)

On 6th of January, there was a one-day sale in apple online store

So I decided that it was high time for me to purchase the iPod.

A week later, I am now a proud iPod touch user ;p

It's so nice, I've tried iMessage and FaceTime with mum and brother who are using the iPhone 4 and 4s

With the online store purchase, I get to make laser engraves on the iPod too!

Wonder why I chose "Patience is a virtue"?

It's because I'm so glad I waited a little while before purchasing and then got to save some discounts on it!

I've just finished my third paper, which was, hard. :(

I'm updating another fashion post, just a short one, again. :p

On normal days and running errands, usually comfort will be the key in picking what I wear

Obviously, I think that works for everyone *slaps forehead*

Though I must say, no matter how simple the outfit is, coordination is the key ;)

These are all from Zara Clearance yesterday. Obviously camera was not allowed there, so no picture :). On a side note, while everyone was rushing to grab items, I was, suprisingly relaxed. I know what I wanted to buy so I didn't really frantically grabbed items (although there's this one shirt I had my eye on, but then came a 'makcik's hand, grabbing it *sigh*) So let's see what I bought ..

1. Four leaf clover round locket, which has this antique feeling about it. Simple, but extraordinary. And oh, did I mention I had a thing for four leaf clover? They really tickle my fancy :p

2. Knuckle ring. Well, I thought why not? Since I'm buying from Zikkos sooner or later anyway, so I grabbed one for myself. Zara, even better.

3. Boots, from Pull and Bear, since they only cost rm4o, great deal :)

4. Loose, airy light boyfriend shirt. Staple item in a closet. I couldn't really afford a silk one, so polyester with the same effect will do. Thank you to Fashiontoast for making me itch to buy monochrome pieces, haha

For those of you who haven't gone there, you still have time! It's until sunday, located at Jaya One Event Hall, above Cold Storage. (though I must warn you, there aren't really any 'IT' items to buy, you have to really meticulously look at each rail to find key pieces that you'd like)

P/s : Loving Hentakbelipat's post about Hijab and fashion. Personally, I, as the new permanent hijab wearer really thinks that the issue is frustrating and complicated at the same time. Of course I want to cover the aurah perfectly but I'm not perfect. The way I dress up before I wear hijab, they can't be changed completely. I have to change them step by step, and obviously it requires time. So along the way, if I often get critisized, I might forget the real intention of wearing the hijab and feel somewhat perplexed and frustrated. I do want to become the perfect muslimah, I just need time to really adjust them with my style preferences. But yes, I respect those who cover their aurah perfectly with pure intention of pleasing Allah.

That, my friend, is not as easy as it sounds.

Hi !

you know, I haven't been shopping for what seemed like a gazilion years now.

My bank acc is slowly regenerating, alhamdulillah!

I still liked sophisticated, glittery items (esp that Bershka metallic jumper! gasps!) but...

(Again, thank god I have whispers of self-realisation before I give in to the temptations).

Nowadays, I'll be like "Do I reaaaaallyyyy need this?" or "Is this really practical?"

And um, looking at my now cleaner closet, I don't think I want to fill it with things I like, adore, but aren't really 'recycled' material (psstt, everything I own is considered gold to me, and no, there are no clothes that I ever regret buying). The ones you can't wear for a thousand times, can't mix it into a whole jumble of things. You get the picture.

I just want to buy things, that I'll wear until it's time, something down to earth, something I had in mind for so long I dream about it.

Let me go back to my past, where I loved clothes as ever, but never really jumps out of my age, my youthful freedom, the uncomplicated situation.

Perhaps I'm being old-fashioned here, but let me be :)

I do, feels nice (not that everything I wear is up pun, just maybe a lil grown up than this)

I missed my converse. I missed a lot of things, actually. I missed being a kid. I missed being random. I missed it all.

You know the situation when you have no other choice other than endure everything and put up a lot effort in masking your feelings? I do.

In fact, I think I'm doing just that lately, which is seriously tiring.

I'm now thinking of being positive, letting go of some feelings, and being careless, just for once.

When you care too much about something, you get headaches, heartaches.

Let go, feel free, it'll probably do me good :) Live the way I should, the way I want to.

Things to wear now ; (note to self, perhaps?)

1. Masculine.

It seems like the men-women trend is going to stay. Get your oxfords, suits and boots out because it's here to stay ! For a whimsical spin, try going for the equestrian look, with crisp shirts, leather belts, trends and of course, brogues!

2. Furry/Animalistic

We've seen this coming, haven't we? (anyway my love for leopard prints go for all season, sorry! haha) This just means I should stock up more snake prints, crocs - anything other than leopard hee. On the other note, I suggest wearing fur on your bag, because Malaysia is very hot, so I don't think it's sane enough to wear jackets/coats/trench with furs. Think bold, think of some wild side of you, just to get going :p

3. Tres Chic items aka eccentric knits

Loose knit with proper pants/ elaborated skirt and so on. I say go for loose knits. Layer your shirt under that sweater for a change of look. Beware! Wear only loose and thin knit-and-shirt combo to avoid suffocation.

4. Ethnic/Tribal

Go bohemian with ethnic, tribal-ish pieces. Take it up a notch, mix prints and colour together, or opt for some cool polynesians prints for a try. Mix it up with nude accessories, and don't forget the feathers!

5. Metallics

Future is now. Don metallics in your outfit and get the sophisticated mode on. Pair with simple cut of metallic accessories to complete your look. Start small, invest in key pieces to make the trend work for you.

6. Plum, bordeaux, dark teal

These are the colours to wear this season! Although Fall mainly plays with darker hues, be experimental in your ensembles to keep them fresh, not dull. Try bordeaux meet suede, it looks awesome! *ahh melts*

Assalamualaikum :)

A day before I started my university life, I was pretty much ecstatic about having 'a different coloured hue' of apparels in my closet.

I longed for mint green clothings, and they just grew even more with one spread in InTrend.

Of course, the A line mint maxi skirt was from some designer.

I didn't really want to buy (coz as you lot know, I'm saving hehe)

Now, I couldn't really sew either, but I can..you know..try..haha

So off I went to buy some cloths, materials and whatever else that I might need.

11pm (about three hours later) I finished two mint coloured maxi skirts. two, because one was pale mint green and the other was dark mint green(almost turquoise).

I'm so in love with the colour, they remind me of seas, and mermaids

Thank you Ayssya for complimenting them of something related to the sea creature.

This is the true colour of the DIY I made :)

Also henna-ed my nails. It's tangerine-coloured now. I love it

It was a gloomy day, (pretty much rained all day), wore some color-blocking pieces just to lift the mood. Maxi skirt is also a great option for hijabis because they're loose, and cover ze aurah perfectly.

p/s : Insyaallah, I'll be producing maxi skirts for AIDH soon. They'll be grape, coral pink , mint green and electric blue. can't wait!

Now, the only downhill thing about it is that they offer free shipping, but only to US. Hmm, pretty sad. Wonder when they'll ship internationally. Going through the next phase of life has really opened my eyes.

Education nowadays is costy :/

So, I have (very much reluctantly) start the idea of saving.

Which means, budget list, and things to buy every month (limited of course, and only if I need them bad enough)

Now, if you are an avid reader (blerghs), you'd know how much I spend a month for my retail therapy (rolls eye) . A lot. :)

Somehow, money does not cover enough of my passion. So..

Making a list is still okay for me, it allows me to have some retail therapy but within budget. So I guess it's fine. (so I still can achieve my target ; ie collect everything from Maysaa collection and such)

oh, and my monthly stylemint membership fee , teehee ;p

So I'll start small, but really, I've nothing to worry about, I think I have what it takes to generally, save :)

Since I'm not applying PTPTN and scholarship, I'll just have to find a way to satisfy my cravings AND pay for my necessities.

And it'll start after Eid

Watching her videos and her blog, I just know that she pours her heart and soul into her blog. And yes, that's the main reason why I find her blog my all time favourite.

What I Love about her :

Firstly her ability to make her blog look international. Seriously, I wouldn't know she's from Malaysia if I didn't dig her deeper. So anyway, basic earthy colours fill up her blog, pretty much in every nook and cranny. And that's why I adore her ensemble. Simple but chic, she maintains poise in every picture. She also mixes vintage, stuff from blogshops and high-end shops which is lovely, and really takes every ensemble up a notch. I mean, doesn't it really show that it doesn't matter where you bought your stuff, it's all about mix and match and your senses on how you pair your items. Lovely, melt melt melt. She never fails to amaze me with ideas and inspirations, really.

Now, that's about it. Two of my most highly anticipated blogs. Kudos for such a great job. Overwhelming, desirable blogs.

A week or so ago, I came across a lot of denim+black combination pictures (lookbook, blogs etc). I liked the simple outfit, it's clean and fresh. And so I wore this outfit out, during my occassional self shopping therapy. I love window shopping, shopping, gallery, sight seeing, alone, mostly because I can immerse myself in my own space and time, and do some critical points on current trends. Though I don't really follow what's in at the moment, but it's worth knowing them. I had my turban neatly in place, and so I walked and walked without any fear, guilt or discomfort(I was wearing my 4 inch wedges btw). It was pure pleasure, satisfaction and tranquil moment for me. It always is serene for me, these me times.

Is it because of the excitement of Eid that's burning my pocket? maybe, big chance. For quite a long time, ie months, I've looked rather too mature and sophisticated. (that's what I think when I look back at my photos) Too much structured blazers, blouse, silk, straight jewelleries.

Self monologue : But the thing is, I've always adored these grown up ensemble. They looked crisp, serious and clean. And I have to tell you, it's completely, utterly contrary to my body size. However, these few days had me thinking about carefree, loose pieces that can add up style points to my wardrobe. When I cleaned my wardrobe only then I realised that I have way too many jackets and blazers and skirts, and bottoms.. and of course so much more. But to my horror, tops, tops, I'm lacking those. And by this I mean real tops, not outerwear or crop stuff. Just tops that have their own special story behind them. So yes, self discipline aina, no more outerwear and bottoms. More ... tops? :D

So these are my current ravings, of pictures I feel like clawing my computer screen just because I need them in my closet.

Tunics, sheer blouses, silk tops..of peachy tan shade. Me lust! Okay, maybe to not make it too serious, a blouse with cape will do, or sheer intricate details :)

Me want this! Mint green (and peach) are my favourite colours this season. With subtle white pipings and details, this is one of my must-haves (though maybe not now cause I haven't even got the chance to wear two other blazers from Azorias that I bought -.-' )

Too much of Rumi Neely of FashionToast had me searching for pretty pretty loose knits jumper. Although I don't know whether they'll do for our weather or not, but they sure look super comfortable and laid back to be worn. Topshop, Zara here I come! :D

Faded denims, denim on denim.. all of this had me thinking of unexpected pairings and colours, of yeah.. denims.

Ethnic tribal-ish jewelleries for me please! I'm not that keen on clothes with tribal essence, so I think I'll start small with accessories first. Not to shabby eyh ? :)

These two pictures show some of the stuff that had me squinting my eyes to see what's more in the store. Truth to be told, we never were the kind of people who go to spa, to well..err pamper? nevertheless, having some discount coupons on 'em really does turn the thing around. I gave mummy those discount coupons that I received during the previous Kl Bazaar. I felt reallyyyyyyyy sad and really regretted the fact that I took only one envelope containing various discount coupons. One!

Cut the long story short, we went to the spa after setting up an appointment. I was, well ..prepared to get bored waiting for mum's one and half hours massage. But ehehe, after much thinking, decided to go for a facial for an hour. Fair and square right? not. haha :p The facial was so soothing and relaxing I think I fell asleep for a bit hihi. Luckily I was awake enough to notice that it was coming to an end. All in all, it was a great experience although I don't think I'll go for facial which costs around 89 anymore, it's so darn expensive! But if you have all the money in the world, I say go for it, it does bring you some good (it's certainly not just a pampering session)

Outfit of the day. Wore comfortable basic stuff that I have. Though I love how the fridge boots add some edge to whole ensemble.

hee, first of all I'd like to wish everyone Happy Ramadhan. May all of us strive hard to be a better person for this holy month. and of course, in the future too ;p . I'd also like to apologize for all my mistakes that I've made, regardless whether I realise it or not :)

Now now, I haven't been updating for so long , yeah? Hmm, I was mainly out of ideas, I didn't have anything to write. But ok ok that's not the reason why :p.
